All is well..Alhamdulillah..Firdausz and Fifi's Engagement...

Alhamdulillah..all is well..all went well despite the difficulties we faced throughout my engagement..we started by planning something ridiculous but let's not go into detail..hahaha..the first thing is getting engage is the first step of having a mutual agreement with your partner..I do not know about other people..but I feel a little different..It is like you are bound to your commitment..so..yes..engagement is not a step you for you to go flirty around anymore..this is like a prep stage to the next BIG stage..this is the time you will try to do your best to..not have a grand wedding..but learn responsibility to be future husbands and wives..we all know this..but it's easier said than done..then just try and don't give up...lets just face it..we all have flaws..and that is why we MUST try to cover the loopholes..walaweh..simpang siur la ckp..hehe..anyway..yup...this is the whole idea of Fifi entering the next BIGGY stage.Ouchh!..well..the ceremony has ended..and guess what?..I baked the desserts for hantaran : the cake, the BAKLAVA (What's that..you will know..just go on and read my post) and the truffles..why the hell in the world I gotta do this..my fiance gave me this bulky dessert book..and I say why not give a shot..and yeah..the best part is..I saved a bit of my money (I will not fork out my money for a cake I can bake, and for a dessert a size of your palm that costs RM 15)..and aren't I impressed of myself??..hell yeah..lets follow me till the end...


Out of the blue Cake

   Macam lagu MLTR..out of the blue..sajela to give it such a name..this cake..to tell you the truth..I have never decorated a cake..to make sure that I don't create a big mess of not buying a ready made cake.. I just decorate the borders of the cake..(tu pun hancus because x tau nak control piping bag..hahah)..and I bought the blue fondant flower from the bakery store....the cake is made using Genoise.. a french style sponge cake..senang je nak buat..if you understand the technique and x ngelat..I was afraid the cake would turn out too dry or even worse bantat..but it did't..it turn out exactly  like the photo in the book...then after letting it cool..I cut out uneven texture..so that the cake will be round and easier to spread the icing...(I xde cake stand..instead I used a plate..which is ok for me..a cake stand is too expensive..huhu)..then I cut the cake horizontally into 2 parts and spread it with whip cream and sprinkled chopped walnuts in between layers..then I spread the choc icing..(messiest job ever..huhu)..but yup..it does not look professional..but I think its quite cool for a hantaran..hehe..I f you guys want to know how to bake genoise..just google up or watch youtube..tons of info on the net these days..just make sure to follow step by step guide..


Baklava
The BAKLAVA..wth is that??..huh..it's a middle eastern dessert made from nuts, greek dough (phyllo dough), honey, rose water and sugar..nama je mcm volcanic..bhn x gempak pun..huhu..except for the phyllo dough..gak gempak nak carik..but take it easy..dekat cold storage ade..don't mistake it for popiah sheets..hahaha..looks like but it's not..it's as thin as a tissue..not made in Malaysia..instead of giving halwa or other manisan, the first time I took a look at the baklava..I fell in love with the recipe..fuiyoo..haha..I just thought it is something traditional and presentable..where to find kalau xnk buat tp mau melantak saje?..emm  find it at your nearest middle eastern shop..there's a restaurant in Ampang point called TARBUSH..they sell it at RM 15 if I'm not mistaken..for 4 or 5 pieces..gle mahal..I'd keep it for a month..huhu..anyway..if you want to try to DIY..just make sure you can seriously tahan the phyllo sheets..it tears up easily..so hard to handle..huhu..the end product is a manisan that is magical (try to pour hot honey+rosewater syrup on the baked baklava and you will see miracle)..it's kind of sticky2.but won't stick to your fingers..the syrup makes it sticky..

Chocolate Truffles

well..truffles..this are'nt the smelly ones..haha..these are choc truffles bolat2 dibolatkan dgn pistachios.....this one plg sng nak buat..but you really have to use ingredients exactly mcm dlm recipe the most crucial item is the chocolate itself....mine taste fine but the texture is a bit senang cair..huhu..this one pun if you want the recipe..google up..so easy nak buat..I made pagi2..unfortunately..ptg masih lembik..then last2 make round balls at 12 midnight...tu pun still lembik..put in the fridge...esoknye..half an hour rombongan lelaki nak dtg baru keluarkn from the fridge...hahahaha...
